DAC (Direct Attach Cable)

T&S Direct Attach Cable (DAC) is a high-speed, cost-effective alternative to an optical transceiver or Active Optical Cable (AOC) in data centre applications when the transmission distance is within 7m. Each DAC product includes an EEPROM providing product information, which can be read by the host system. It has premium s parameter and impedance parameter control with automatic production, so that the DAC solution provides an energy-efficient connection for short-distance interconnection, and achieves higher port bandwidth, density and configurability with low cost and lower power consumption. Rigorous cable production testing ensures the best out-of-the-box installation experience, product performance and durability.

T&S DAC assemblies can deliver data rates up to 400 Gbps with a variety of lengths or customized options for greater design flexibility. The assemblies provide superior performance and reliability due to an innovative manufacturing and shielding process that minimizes external and internal noise. Moreover, T&S DAC are compliant with IEEE802.3by, IEEE802.3bj, and IEEE802.3cd, which are compatible with industry standard connectors.
